Why Lion Warriors?

Lion Warriors is the next step for ages 7–9 who are ready for greater structure, challenge, and leadership. Our program builds strength, focus, and respect through age-appropriate martial arts, inspiring students to rise through the ranks while developing character on and off the mat.

Lion Warriors Program Overview

Lion Warriors (ages 7–9) guides young students through a structured path of physical skill and character development. With every rank, they grow in strength, confidence, and leadership — earning Seishin badges along the way for focus, courage, and respect.

Beginner Program

Belt Ranks: White → White/Yellow → Yellow

Class Length: 45 minutes

Key Focus:

  • ✅ Basic stances, strikes, blocks, and coordination
  • ✅ Tools: Bojutsu (Stick Fighting)
  • ✅ Intro to Kumite (Non-Contact / Light Sparring Drills)
  • ✅ Teamwork, dojo respect, and character-building projects

Outcome: Students build confidence, self-control, and focus through fun, structured training.

Intermediate Program

Belt Ranks: Yellow/Orange → Orange → Orange/Green

Class Length: 1 hour

Key Focus:

  • ✅ Combo techniques, throws, sparring, and ground control
  • ✅ Kata: Ichimonji mo Kata, Jumonji no Kata, and Hicho no Kata
  • ✅ Kumite: Flag Sparring, Point Sparring, Grappling, and Tools
  • ✅ Leadership roles during warm-ups and peer mentoring

Outcome: Students apply techniques under pressure, demonstrate courage, and begin to lead others.

Throughout their journey, students earn Seishin Badges for core virtues like respect, focus, and leadership — visible milestones of skill and character.

Frequently Asked Questions

Your child will need a martial arts uniform and belt, both available from the BCMAA Official Store. As they progress, we’ll let you know when they need light sparring gear — and we’ll guide you every step of the way.

No experience is needed. Our instructors are trained to help new students succeed from day one.

We welcome students with prior experience. Your child will keep the rank they earned at their previous school, and we’ll place them in the program that best supports their continued growth within our curriculum. This ensures they feel confident while gaining the specific skills and knowledge we teach at BCMAA.
